Godsvein Castle Ballroom

This piece was designed for a 3D video game in which rocks and gems have overgrown an ancient castle. The scale of the player is shown in full force here in the ballroom, where a miniboss fight takes place. This place is covered in gaudy marble and gold to reflect the wealth of the kingdom. At the same time, however, I wanted to show how the castle is empty in its dreaded atmosphere.

The scale here is very important, as the ballroom is one of the largest parts of the castle. The lighting is also just as important since the space is so huge.

This particular room’s color palette was chosen by the signature red gems and metallic walls of the scene. This was an important choice for the game as every room has a different palette, given by their respective gem color.
